I guess I'll see you in the movies.
When I started watching "La La Land" and saw people singing and dancing on cars, I doubted that I would enjoy the film. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the emotional journey it took me on. My sister had always praised it as her favorite movie and encouraged me to watch it, but I was hesitant, fearing I might dislike it. Today, she convinced me to watch it with her, and I'm glad she did because I genuinely liked it.
Both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are actors I admire, and I believe they delivered outstanding performances in this film. They share an undeniable chemistry, which is evident not only in "La La Land" but also in other films they've starred in together, such as "Crazy Stupid Love" and "Gangster Squad."
I was captivated by the movie's use of colors to create different atmospheres and the exceptional camera work and cinematography. The soundtrack and songs were also a delight, making me reconsider my initial belief that I didn't enjoy musicals.
It took me a while to adjust to the film's unique style, but once I did, I truly enjoyed it. However, I experienced moments of slight boredom during some scenes, possibly due to watching the film while tired or because some moments felt slow. Despite this, reflecting on the entire movie, I can say I genuinely enjoyed it.
Damien Chazelle is a remarkable director, and I've appreciated each of his films that I've watched, including "Whiplash," "La La Land," and "First Man." I have yet to see "Babylon," though.
Initially, I planned to rate the movie 4 stars, but the emotional impact of the final scene pushed me to give it 4.5 stars instead. "La La Land" proved to be one of those films that exceeded my expectations, and I'm happy to have given it a chance.
