The first time I rewatched this I think I was a little bored by the "fantasy" parts, just waiting for the end to kick in. This time l did not feel that way and in fact I was really enjoying the conspiracy stuff and Theroux's scenes in particular and was able to pretend that they were the actual plot of the movie. The kind of movie that's extremely dependent on plot mechanics and twists but that you can also 60% figure out in the first three minutes if you know what a cuckoo is. Ok visual style though and Hunter Schafer was cool. Always love seeing my man Dan though he didn't get to do anything that crazy. I thought people said this got really crazy in the third act. This is pretty funny and the cast is good. Gosling is the best and the most funny but Margot is good too. The messaging is alright. It looks decent but not great.
