For me most of the time it's not how the movie was, but the emotions it leaves me with.

Little Forest: Summer/Autumn 2014
food, greens and blue sky, food, cultivating your own veggies, some more food, gentle breeze/stream and mundane paths...more sweet and savory food, animals, fish and insect, food on top of food, chit-chat with elders...and food.

Grave of the Fireflies 1988
One of the most profoundly intense films I have ever watched. I am captivated by how Isao Takahata explores and portrays the grim, horrific, and inhumane dimensions of war through such an innocent and impeccably crafted animation.
It’s a deeply intense and thought-provoking film that compels the viewer to question: if wars are inherently inhumane, can it not be deemed a crime against humanity in its entirety? -
