Beetlejuice: Really more nightmare material.
A legacy sequel done right! Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a fantastic and hilarious sequel to one of the funniest 80s comedies ever made! Wacky costume and production design, heartfelt performances from Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega, with exceptional supporting roles from Catherine O’Hara and Willem Dafoe. Ortega and Ryder do a terrific job at being the anchors the emotional core of the film, that being the theme of familial love and acceptance. Furthermore, Dafoe and O'Hara are clearly having so much fun doing this movie it's hard to not have a good time watching them.
Let’s talk my main man Michael Keaton for a second. Like holy shit is he amazing. One of the best comedic actors of his generation! He is as funny and goofy as ever, making for one of my favorite performances of the year. The film also further expands on the world created by Burton in 1988. The afterlife is filled with all sorts of crazy characters you’ll never get bored. But back to Keaton, he’s by far the best part of the movie and by himself makes the movie worth watching.
Beetlejuice: I believe it was Dostoyevsky who said, "Later, fucker!"
Danny Elfman continues to prove that he’s one of the most creative and genius composers to ever life. He builds off his score from the first film and somehow manages to at times top it.
While it was really good, it definitely took a bit too long to get going and for the story to kick in. Hit that doesn’t bother me that much just because we need to get caught up with the characters’ lives. BUT I did really enjoy that twist and did not see it coming. So good job on that part!

Overall Beetlejucie Beetlejucie was an incredibly entertaining and fun movie that perfectly recaptures the spirt and tone of the original.
