Really cool thriller concept.
Somehow it's an incredibly short runtime and it is not tight whatsoever. The opening "exposition" designed just to throw us off, Hayden Christensen audibly writhing in pain while we see pointless flashbacks, Hayden Christensen is suddenly not in pain to walk around in some other mostly pointless flashbacks. Do I hate James Cameron? No. Mans is my brother in Christ and I respect him for making some really cool movies.
Can I ever forgive him for taking one of the most interesting thriller alien stories and turning it into a shoot em up? man idk it's tough.
It's not that I have any issue with that genre, it's fine. It works surprisingly well for a franchise like Alien.. I just feel like it cheapens it to some degree.…
