    Wow. I don't know what I was expecting, but this blew my expectations out of the water.  Denis Villenueve has out-done himself with this one.     I just got out of the theater and I'm blown away. This film had a lot riding on it, and I'll admit that i was scared.     Longest 89 minutes ever. Movie coasts on vibes and lingering B-roll. Performances are great and the score is beautiful. The script was deplorable; so much clunky exposition and yet we really never ingest the information or get to explore the characters. I've watched 60 second long Tiktok edits that evoked more emotion from me than this film did. That Miley song was beautiful though. 

    P.S. I'm sorry because I love her, but there's no way in hell Billie Lourd passes…

    Cried this time. Ellen's pain affected me so. I have so many thoughts about Count Orlok and what he represents for the characters in the film, how both real and supernatural he is, how he defies so many binaries of the "modern" world. Eggers has really outdone himself here. Definitely cemented its place as one of my favorite horror films ever.
