I was in a musical mood after Barbie. Technically still counts as the road to Barbenheimer as it features gosling and I have yet to see Oppenheimer.
Musicals aren’t my favorite genre, but damn do they always have the most energy and fluid camerawork that I always long for in movies. Chazdell uses shadows and colors on full display to highlight characters and emotions. Definitely deserved the best picture win, although Moonlight is still on my watchlist so can’t say for sure.
