Whenever I approach A Chaplin or Keaton film, I admit it’s generally just to tick a box, not from a particular space or interest. I have seen many clips in montages or videos, and generally any appeal these films hold rests mainly for its stunt work. Yet, Sherlock Jr. is somewhat unique in this case, at least for my silent film journey thus far, because I greatly enjoyed this.
It’s gags are lighthearted as usual, but I enjoyed the dreaming aspect, story within a story, and the gags were far more interesting, and impressive, then others of its type I’ve seen. First proper viewing of a Buster Keaton film, and I gotta give credit where it’s due. Good time!
