Paul Newman is Jesus Christ, humblest and proudest of the downtrodden. Much like Bartleby the Scrivener, he prefers not to submit to authority, and becomes another victim of the state. The system doesn’t change by the end, but the lives of those around him have. Newman is incredible, and really everyone impresses. Some of the imagery, and the overall storyline of Newman’s character, will stay with me forever.
