Attaboy, Clarence. Every year I tell myself I’m not going to cry. Every year, I fail. It’s a Wonderful Life, indeed.
Seriously, this is a legitimately great movie. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, the concepts, the heart, it’s all there. If you haven’t given it a shot because you think it’s cheesy Christmas fare, you probably haven’t really heard enough about what it’s really like. Sure, it’s hopeful, but it’s also very real and full of what life hammers us most with: our choices don’t always work out and over time, that wears us out. But then, we have a chance to reflect and see that it’s still a blessing in the midst of all the hardship.
