Avoid settling
Embrace new ideas to learn
Balance inner peace
Caught onto even more detail on this rewatch! Really love how the movie uses characterization, romance, and comedy to explore a persons desire for detail in life, rather than settling for the oversimplification of information and visuals. Being caught between two people is like being caught between your profession and social life or/and your need for depth and simplicity at the same time. The way Holly Hunter is so socially awkward but so in the zone with her craft is relatable as hell, while also being so comedic yet emotionally executed.
