glorious. an earth-shattering achievement in filmmaking. my heart was pounding out of my chest for the entire duration, which ended up being the quickest (albeit incredibly harrowing) three hours of my life. cillian delivers a haunting, career-best performance, but it’s the film’s sound design that really floored me- utilizing both silence and volume to levels of extreme i didn’t previously know existed. it’s just perfect, it really is, and to say i’m excited to see what nolan does next is an understatement. my favourite film of the year thus far, i’m gonna go stare at a wall for a couple hours now
