„Transformers One“ fühlt sich an wie der frische Wind, den das Transformers-Franchise mal nötig hatte. Statt der üblichen Explosionen und gigantischen Action-Setpieces gibt’s diesmal ein Prequel, das sich voll auf den Planeten Cybertron und die Anfänge des Konflikts zwischen Autobots und Decepticons konzentriert. Keine Sorge, es bleibt trotzdem genug Platz für ordentlich Action – nur eben mit etwas mehr Story im Gepäck.
Die Handlung startet etwas chaotisch und wirft direkt mit Namen und Begriffen um sich, die vielleicht nicht sofort Sinn ergeben. Wer aber schon länger im Transformers-Universum unterwegs ist, wird sich schnell reinfinden. Im Mittelpunkt steht Orion Pax – später bekannt als Optimus Prime – und sein holpriger Weg zum Helden. Mit ihm auf die Reise geht D-16, ein ziemlich zwielichtiger Kumpel aus der Energon-Mine, der für reichlich Spannung sorgt.
Die Charaktere? Nun ja, nicht alle sind der Brüller. Vor allem die weiblichen Figuren könnten mehr zu tun bekommen, aber gut, man kann nicht alles haben. Dafür glänzt die Dynamik zwischen Orion Pax und D-16, und das macht den Film interessant.
Was der Film richtig gut macht, sind die Action-Szenen, die sich langsam steigern und am Ende richtig aufdrehen. Es wird ordentlich gekämpft, aber ohne dass gleich alles in die Luft fliegt. Und das ist ja auch mal ganz nett. Die Musik? Die fällt ehrlich gesagt kaum auf, aber stört auch nicht.
Ein bisschen Humor gibt’s auch – und der ist tatsächlich gut getimt. So bleibt der Film leichtfüßig und unterhaltsam, ohne sich zu ernst zu nehmen. Insgesamt ist „Transformers One“ also ein spaßiges Abenteuer für Jung und Alt, das den Autobots endlich mal ein bisschen mehr Charakter verleiht.
Und wenn die Autobots das nächste Mal wieder auf die Erde kommen, wissen sie zumindest, wie der ganze Ärger überhaupt angefangen hat. Jetzt fehlt nur noch die Szene, in der sie erklären, wo sie ihre Reifen wechseln lassen.

"Transformers One" feels like the fresh breeze the franchise has been needing for a while. Instead of the usual explosions and giant action set pieces, this prequel focuses entirely on the planet Cybertron and the origins of the Autobots vs. Decepticons conflict. Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of action – just with a bit more story to back it up.
The plot kicks off a little chaotically, throwing names and concepts at you that might not make sense right away. But if you’re already familiar with the Transformers universe, you’ll find your footing quickly. At the heart of it is Orion Pax – later known as Optimus Prime – and his rocky journey to becoming a hero. Along for the ride is D-16, a shady buddy from the Energon mines who adds a good dose of tension.
The characters? Well, not all of them are showstoppers. The female characters especially could’ve used a bit more to do, but hey, you can’t have everything. That said, the dynamic between Orion Pax and D-16 is solid and keeps things interesting.
Where the movie really shines is in its action sequences, which ramp up nicely and hit their peak at just the right moment. There’s plenty of fighting without everything blowing up at once – and honestly, that’s kind of refreshing. The music? Barely noticeable, but it doesn’t hurt either.
There’s some humor sprinkled in, and it’s actually pretty well-timed. It keeps the movie light and entertaining, without taking itself too seriously. Overall, "Transformers One" is a fun ride for all ages, giving the Autobots a bit more character depth than usual.
And when the Autobots return to Earth next time, at least they’ll know how all the drama got started. Now we just need a scene where they explain where they get their tires changed.
