-Bill Skarsgard as Count Orlok. Wow. Almost unrecognizable, and properly chilling with that freak-ass accent. The bushy mustache was certainly a *choice* but somehow more striking than overly bushy eyebrows.
-So atmospheric. Every frame is dripping with dread. The cinematography is stunning, and almost feels photographed in black and white.
-Lighting is an art form, and the way Eggers plays with light and shadow here proves he knows his shit.

Part gripping slasher, part psychological coming-of-age horror fun, Lizzie Borden-inspired The Inhabitant is a surprising gem among the prime crop of 2022 genre films. If you can get past the oddly generic title, there is a lot to love here. Led by Odessa A’zion (who is notably about to have a great horror year between this and David Bruckner’s Hellraiser), the female-centric delights have a haunting quality about them.
