"Why'd ya spill yer beans?"
I have been anticipating The Lighthouse (2019), the latest film from Robert Eggers, the director of The Witch (2017), ever since I saw the trailer for it in the summer.
I have to be honest. This is not what I was anticipating.
I thought The Lighthouse (2019) was going to be a full out horror film.
It is a dark film with horror elements. At times it's a dark, black comedy.
I was not expecting that.
One thing is for sure, Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson's performances are so good, they just might get some Oscar consideration.
That might not be all. The cinematography is spectacular. The film looks like a cleaned up version of a weathered photo album, pried from the hands of a dead fisherman in the 1890's.
The word is out. The Lighthouse (2019) is masterful.
Consider the beans thoroughly spilled.
