Didn't really hate this as I thought I would

Maybe would be better off as a straight up comedy. The social commentary is so "Democratic-Party-friendly" it makes you roll your eyes. Overall, got better once they focused on Viggo's and Mahershala's dynamic

The second half of the movie is non-stop Bayhem at its best, Michael clearly focused on doing what he loves. It's hard not to get at least amused while watching it.
Unfortunately, the first half is almost complete garbage, the attempts at character development, intrigue and plot twists were laughable if not boring. Michael basically uses it as an excuse to prepare the scenario for the big spectacle that's about to come, which is the main course
If it were for the second half alone, this movie would get a gentleman's three stars

WHAT A LOVELY DAY
2024 is coming full stacked, this was so distinct from Fury Road, yet almost as wonderful as it. Whoever is doubting George Miller and letting this movie flop in theaters (while Godzilla and Kong makes bank!) should just come to theaters and witness it. This was a marvel in almost every aspect.
Might be my recency bias speaking loudly, but this might be better than Dune Part Two. True or not, it's on the same level.
