Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

I am smitten by this animated spidey movie.

“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” gives a package of ultra heroism and honorable virtue, and at the same time provides an entertaining time. It’s a lot more kinetic than “Incredibles,” in my opinion, and very high-spirited.

It gave me the feeling that we were given just the right embodiment of animation that feels fresh and innovative. This movie doesn’t go for hardline photorealism in its CGI approach. Rather, it chooses dazzling, quick-moving illustrations, which falls into that sweet spot of not entirely 2-D, and not exactly the usual digital animation that we’re used to.

Believe me when I say that watching it is like your favorite Spider-Man shiny comic pages magazine coming to life in front of your eyes.

I think this movie is one of the most relatable among super heroes. Why? It’s because he’s the representation of teen angst who worries about his self-image, being accepted with his peer group, living up to his parent's dreams and fitting in.

“Into the Spider-Verse” centers most of its story on Miles Morales, an African-Latino New Yorker teen whose father is a cop. Miles was bitten by a genetically altered problem spider while scouting a subway tunnel with his uncle. He soon realized that he has been selected to take on the Spidey role/task, and he’s not alone.

Hardly ever has an animated movie been over padded with motion and plot development, yet at the same time so on point. It doesn’t yield its visual feast universe and sprawling visuals to clog up its emotions. You’ll observe Pemberton’s score turntable scratching notably in the score reminiscent of pop culture filmmaking. The cinematography is an LSD trip! (not that I’ve ever tried one)

Watching this was truly an experience that’s both simultaneously warm yet colorful and exciting. It’s a movie that brings its viewers to a delightfully dazzling colorful pallete of action that makes you feel like a kid all over again.

Of all the many of films that pull inspiration from comic magazines, so few left an ink mark on my hands like this one did. I became a kid at heart once again!
