It’s like Burlesque but with a more depressing plot, better musical numbers, and a better script. I can see why this is considered one of the best movie musical adaptations. It brilliantly handles the balance between the stage performances and the story. The cast is superb and carries every performance. I am going to give it a low range 4 and 1/2 stars because it is better than Burlesque but I am not sure by how much.
