Performances veer from the first table read to the WWE. A nothing plot somehow still feels like it's doing too much. Gyllenhaal's smug nonchalance is occasionally funny but mostly plays like he knows the material is failing him. On top of all that, it just looks ugly. Who can explain to me what goes on behind the scenes of these streamer productions that a capable filmmaker like Doug Liman can't at least make one look like a real movie.
