Points for originality, and I think the role of a *certain new main character* is in keeping with what Green and co. have been going for thematically throughout the trilogy, it just feels at odds for what is also the endpoint of Laurie’s story. And when it gets to that stuff, it is genuinely effective, but I understand for some if it’s too little too late. It’s a strange yet somewhat earnest conclusion to a neat little trilogy that really had no right in being as fun as it is, especially the first two.
This also might have the kill I laughed the hardest at in these new movies so that’s worth something!
