Watched it after Kieran Culkin win at the Golden Globes !
What an amazing movie !! In addition to directing and starring in it, Jesse Eisenberg also wrote the screenplay, and that's really the film's strong point. He managed to perfectly blend comedy and drama in this story.
Kieran Culkin is amazing, what an fucking actor!! Beyond his stunning performance, I completely identified with the character of Benji. Jesse Eisenberg is excellent too, and their duo works so well together.
There are very funny moments and some beautiful scenes. My favorite one is during their last night in Poland when they smoke on the rooftop of a building. Having lived through these kinds of conversations myself makes me appreciate even more how well this film is written.
Another thing I really liked is the use of only Chopin's music. I didn’t expect to be so moved. I was expecting just a good film, but in the end, I’m left questioning my life and my life choices.
