Blue Velvet 1986
“I don't know if you're a detective or a pervert.”
“Well, that's for me to know and you to find out.”This film was truly brilliant and unique. The acting especially by Isabella Rossellini, is amazing and the suspense and darkness of it all is unforgettable. It’s really a movie that stays with you long after you watch it.
Cinematically, this movie is absolutely stunning. I’ve always been a sucker for the vibrant look of Technicolor, typically seen in classic…

Harvey 1950
“Is he alone?”
“Well, there's two schools of thought, sir.”Jimmy Stewart who’s 6’3” ft tall having to look up at a rabbit that’s 6’3 1/2” ft tall was really the icing on the cake for this movie.
The film was truly and surprisingly beautiful. It held themes of acceptance, individuality, and the value of kindness over societal norms. It was also funny in its way of mixing absurdity and sincerity with Jimmy’s character calm acceptance of this rabbit existing while everyone else is in a state of confusion and disbelief over it. It's a delightful watch that I truly believe stood the test of time.

I was genuinely blown away by how quick this movie felt and that was when I realized what a…

Speed 1936
“Riding with women drivers always makes me nervous. Ya know? I take enough chances everyday.”
Much of this film comes across like an educational infomercial on the mechanics of cars. It took a while to feel as if there was even a storyline taking place and once it gets there, it’s not great. The pacing drags in places, particularly during dialogue heavy scenes that dwell too long on technical exposition. The plot's resolution feels predictable with a climax that relies…
