It was wise to start this with two minutes of title cards explaining how the hell Caligula: The Ultimate Cut came into existence, because this web of writer Gore Vidal, director Tinto Brass and Penthouse producer Bob Guccione is complicated to say the least. As much as I still shrug at everything to do with the Millie Bobby Brown subplot that had no reason to exist, when Godzilla vs Kong delivers on what Adam Wingard clearly wanted to do, it's a damn fun time.
