Bonkers. Absolutely bonkers. A film that drives you to a cliff, telling a disturbing tale full of self hatred that is actually really chilling. The SOUND DESIGN, the cinematography, the production design all of it is unsettling. Then it gleefully throws you off that cliff and laughs at you. Very exciting filmmaking. Season tickets to Coralie Fargeat.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Okay I have seen this twice now. I am certain this and part one are two of the greatest Science Fiction movies ever to be projected on a silver screen.
I pray that there will be a 6 hour cut of both movies together.
Technically speaking everything from the cinematography to the score is top notch stuff from experts in field such as Greg Fraser and Hans Zimmer. The vfx effects again are stunning, Villeneuve understands scale, scope and the…

They Call Her Death 2024
A wonderful blend of splatter horror and spaghetti western. Shot on beautiful 16mm film, it was a joy to see this on the big screen. The amount of work and passion is clearly up there on screen. Remember the name Austin Snell.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 1974
TCM is by far still to this day one of the most disturbing films of all time. Not only the visuals but the sound design, with the confusing animal grunts from Leather Face to his deafening chainsaw. This is extremely apparent during the five minute chase sequence, the sound sucks you in and adds to the experience not always being able to depict what’s happening on the screen.
The dynamic angles and camera movements help keep you off balance as well, Hooper, the director never lets you get comfortable or stable throughout. A horror masterpiece that will continue to live on.

Thelma 2024
I am so sorry I slept on this in 2024, strong case that it might’ve made the top five. Uniquely funny, shot like a Mission Impossible movie, and completely heartwarming.
June Squibb is a sweetheart and a great surrogate grandma for all. Fred Hechinger continues to rise in my opinion. This, Nickel Boys and Gladdy 2 is a big year for the young actor.
Such a great first feature and a smart concept for making a movie to show off a multitude of different pitches. Josh Margolin is on the watchlist.

Civil War 2024
Throughly enjoyed this. Shot beautifully of course, and the sound design is so amazing! I’ve never heard guns sound so real, so crisp, so loud.
Very glad that it was told from the perspective of the journalist. We never really learn what the sides are or how this conflict all started. That objectivity highlights journalism and keeps us as viewers objective when watching the film. I think it’s really quite brilliant.
In this garbage IP era where everything has to…

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
Not only is this the most visually stunning film of the year so far and should probably go down as one of the best animated films of all time, it is by far the best representation of Spiderman on the big screen.
Emotionally resonate and devastating throughout the film. I think its a lock for Best Animated Film at the Oscars and has a chance to be nominated for Best Picture. An allstar-diverse cast doing some of the best voice…

A Different Man 2024
I love the tone shifts this film pulls off from a somber body horror drama, to an oddball dark comedy. Sebastian Stan is electric and Adam Pearson brings amazing energy to throw the film off its axis. Also Renate Reinsve 💗

Wolf Man 2025
Wellllll the first 2025 release starts with a real whimper. I just plainly did not like this movie. The Wolf Man design was terrible, you never buy the family as a unit and action/stakes never ever delivered.
It is extremely hard to bring this story into the 21st century but man I wish they would of chosen a different direction.
