I had a great time watching this political thriller dressed in pope robes. Characters in dimly lit rooms whispering about secrets and conspiracy is always entertaining to me.

The cinematography and score really stand out here as strong contenders come award season. Fiennes is a powerhouse, and will finally get his Oscar nom. 

I saw this with three friends of mine, one completely passed out and the other two were holding on by a thread lol so just know going in that this is a quiet, slow moving, insert heavy film. I complain all the time that we don’t have old school adult dramas in theaters anymore, seems that a lot of that genre has moved to television, glad to see this was adapted for the big screen.
