While it has some cute moments, Moana 2 can’t capture the same spark that made the first one so great. I know a lot of people can’t stand Lin-Manuel Miranda, but his music would’ve helped here. 

I will say Moana and Simea’s relationship is too precious and the mid-credits scene is great.
