There’s two wildly over-the-top performances in this movie; one of which includes a 2+ minute single-take monologue. Makes up for what it lacks in convincing set design with appropriate amounts of sleaze, gore and trashy synth music. A perfectly low-key holiday horror movie for the second half of a double bill.
I am giving this movie five stars in the hope that this review will somehow catch your attention. If you are reading this, drop what you are doing and stream this on Amazon prime right now. Comedy beyond words. I am actually in pain from how hard I was laughing at this, and may have actually woken up my neighbors at 1 am. Must be seen to be believed. Turned it off halfway through because that’s all a sane person can take.
Hands down one of the best horror films of the last decade. Incredible gags. Relentless gore. The first film to achieve the perfect tightrope balance of scares and comedy since EVIL DEAD 2. An instant classic we’re going to be talking about for many years to come. This is balls to the walls filmmaking. Can’t wait to see what Lee Cronin does next.
