Heretic 2024

Quite an interesting plot with a strong first two acts and good performances. Its third act isn't as strong, but I did still enjoy the film. For me though, it’s nowhere near the top tier of
A24’s horror catalogue.
Felt like the ‘one true religion’ reveal was gonna be some kinda eldritch horror Mr. Reeds had found and kept locked away in his house.
Anyway, I did like the reveal the film went with,
but if you take the ending…
We Live in Time 2024

With some lesser performers, this rather simple script coupled with its (purposefully) jumbled
pacing might have not worked out great, but thankfully we have Andrew Garfield and
Florence Pugh.
The two really help to organically shape this film’s narrative, that of which is a non-linear journey through several pivotal moments
from a couples relationship, from start
to bittersweet end.
Some viewers may prefer their tearjerkers told in a more straightforward way, but I did quite
appreciate the way it’s done…

Feels like Ridley Scott just plagiarized himself.
Not doing a rewatch of Gladiator immediately beforehand might actually help you enjoy this movie more than I did.
Otherwise, you would quickly realize what this sequel essentially is; a duplicated template of its predecessor, with slight variations, that is
a lesser film no matter how you slice it.
