Hey! This is me using that “Paint Drying” thing!
So, my wife are in an arts group that is doing a “media deprivation” thing—aka cutting out social media as well as movies/tv/podcasts/books—so that we have space to actually make stuff ourselves. Social media can easily get in the way of creation, but intaking great art can, too. It’s easy to completely lose myself in other people’s movies/writing/music/etc to avoid doing my own. I do this “deprivation” thing periodically and it’s always terrifying and also really rewarding.
