    I was a little worried going into this as The Northman honestly mostly bored me; and this is the 3rd remake based on an unofficial adaptation of one of the most adapted novels /stories of all time.
    Thankfully, as unsurprising as it is most of the time given how familiar this story is, it still has enough personality imo to stand out and thankfully not be considered an unnecessary remake.

    And a real good little film! And we can add Eisenberg to the list of actors who can also be good directors and writers!
    A lovely character study with the bond between the two main characters; Jewish cousins with opposing personalities being particularly well written. Eisenberg and Culkin compliment each other perfectly and both give excellent performances. Sure if you're familiar with their work it's not that different from what they both usually do, but they're so good at it…

    The one film I wanted to see and couldn't at Cannes and it's sadly a little disappointing given Park Chan Wook' resume imo.
    Like bits and pieces here and there about the central relationship and there's some great editing choices, the way characters are visually present in a scene when "they're actually not but it feels like they are" for ex, even though it can also be a little confusing at times.
    But it never really goes past its classic…
