what an unnerving nightmare. part one instantly makes your skin crawl with the editing of the crime scene photos and nic cage’s terrifying introduction. maika monroe gives a great vulnerable performance from start to finish. while the film kicks off as a slow burn ride, it quickly spirals into a hellish descent.
this movie is more disturbing than scary; though there were some scary moments and jump scares that left my theater whispering fuck that. longlegs is definitely the most unsettling horror film of the year.
