i am so glad that i got the chance to watch this on imax, just eh way my father (chris nolan) intended. this movie is just a masterpiece, like just once in a century released.
first things first, it starts with the script, that's written based on oppenheimer's official biography and it is fantastically written on first person, it tells the whole story of him based on how he viewed his own character, his own narrative and the story that the whole world would get to know.
oppenheimer is described as a eccentric person and someone who thought he could change the world and he forever did. getting an amazing performance from a master of self-centered characters, cilian murphy, excels at this in a way no one else could.
talking about performances, this is just, i know and hope so, an oscar favorite. we can have so many actors nominated, for the amazing cast nolan has put together, we're talking about people like emily blunt, matt damon, robert downey jr, rami malek and so on...
also, don't get me started on the score, ludwig did such an amazing job and he deserves so much an award for the pieces he brought together, building a tension i have never seen before. even when we talk about the movie on its whole, putting together with the non-computerized visual effects, this changes the whole concept on how we view modern films and how can concepts within movies feel so much more realistic and tangible when building them like chris nolan.
i cannot wait to see it again and this is forever gonna go down as one of my favorites of all time. and by far, the best of the year. if it was not for my emotional attachment to inception, this would be my favorite chris nolan film.
