OH MY GOD, this was absolutely incredible. Stanley Tucci and Ralph Fiennes DEMOLISHING the screen with their impeccable performances.
The main thing for me was the cinematography, the choice to make the majority of the shots completely still was so so powerful. It made you feel so positively removed from the film, we were observing them, and it made it so perfect
The use of colour was a big thing for me too, the deep, sharp red of their vestments on the neutral backdrop of the Vatican and Sistene Chapel created such a tense atmosphere, they were out for blood and not afraid to admit it.
I will probably be seeing this or at least watching this with my mum at some point as she read the book, so be ready for more raving about this masterpiece
