I hope Cynthia and Ariana get their medical bills payed after being send out to the hospital for carrying this entire film on their back.

But for reals. This was I what I expected the film to be. A perfectly fine musical that has its highlights like the two lead performances, some of the musical numbers, the sets and costumes, and a few great scenes (like the scene when Elphaba and Glinda dance at the ball is easily the best scene of the film for me) that misses so many heights due to the mostly bland visual pallets, directing that’s a mixed bag across the board, many little details in the writing that bothered me, and not hitting hard with the emotional core as it wanted to do (especially with the third act). Not Dear Evan Hansen or Greatest Showman levels of atrocious, but not La La Land or Moulin Rouge levels of masterpiece either. Hoping that Part 2 is an improvement.

But I swear to God, if Hollywood ever fucks up Hadestown (one of the greatest works of art of all time) by make it a bland, boring, and shitty film adaptation, I will become the joker.
