This is one of those “it gets the job done pretty well” type films, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I think it could have benefited from going a little deeper with the story and some of the elements it establishes I wished were fleshed out better, but it still offers great performances (Jodie was the highlight for me, and I loved the accent she brought to her role, but Austin and Tom were also great, especially with Tom’s weird American Accent), solid directing and cinematography, and constant engagement to the film that I never felt bored while watching it. We’ll see if I liked it more upon re watch down the pipeline, but I’m glad it delivered after being delayed and it didn’t found a distributor after Disney/Fox didn’t wanted to distribute it for stupid reasons (and that’s another reason to hate Disney).
