Truly not my place to decide whether a movie is good or bad representation for a marginalized group I'm not part of, but what I will say is that I have enjoyed countless films with... messy politics. There are Almodóvar movies, for example, that are at best iffy when it comes to the depiction of trans identities, but you can get away with a lot when you're Almodóvar, and Emilia Pérez wishes.

Between the Temples 2024

I know the timeline doesn't work at all, but I'd like to believe that Meredith Marks saw Between the Temples and decided to have her Bat Mitzvah as an adult.
So much beautiful specificity in this—I love the attention to detail, especially in regards to Jewish culture. But also the door that screams. Every performance is great. It's a little long for what it is, though that doesn't really diminish the charm.
