We've come back to reclaim our stolen breath. --- The Distillers
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a fantastic sequel to the 1988 original and I enjoyed it just as much. The cast, returning players and those new to the franchise, turn in wonderful performances. I'm particularly fond of Catherine O'Hara, Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, and Monica Bellucci. Of course Keaton, the Juice himself, is the best of the bunch. Funny gags. Excellent special effects. The musical sequence featuring the Donna Summer version of "MacArthur Park" was one of my favorites and the song has been firmly lodged as an earworm in my brain for five days now. There were a lot of plot threads and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a very busy movie, but at no time did I lose my way, and although it's filled to the brim with stories and antics and SFX eye candy, it never felt overstuffed. The flick is a delight and a fun time was had at the movies.
