It is the 18th Century in Austria and Agnes is excitingly getting married and can't wait to make her husband a good wife and bare a child but doesn't realize she is getting into a sexless marriage kills her dreams of having a child which leaves Agnes feeling useless.
After a shocking intro this period peice moves at a agonizing bleak slow pace but a intriguing, thought provoking story.

A soon to be married young woman and a female artist that is painting a portrait of her by suprise strike up a romance.
What a delight for the eyes. Everything about this film was absolutely perfect. The cinematography was visually beautiful with that blue sea and old mansion. The acting, the way these two young ladies portrayed the slow, smooth development of a sensual, delicate affair but discreet for that time, and the chemistry between the two was right on point. I have nothing negative to say about this film.

Mia Goth like the title says "X-traordinary" as Pearl. We watch Pearl as a young adult yearning for her husband to come home from the war. Wishing to find a way to prove to everybody she has the talent to become the dancer she always dreamed of being. While her overbearing mother tries to keep Pearl trapped at the farm helping take care of her sick dad, we see Pearl become unhinged. Her door has been slammed too much.
