A realistic depiction of the real life 1972 Andes flight disaster that honors the real stories of the survivors and the deceased. From the plane crash to all the dramas and tolls surrounding those uncertain 72 days (coincidence??), everything is shown as it is without going unnecessarily melodramatic. Definitely a great decision to cast mostly newcomer actors for this.
I read that Frank Marshall made a Hollywood version of this 30 years ago. With that version featuring mostly white actors and taking too many liberties with the story, I’m not sure if I will ever check that one now that this new adaptation is undoubtedly superior.
