    One of the best depictions of malevolent dread I’ve seen. 

    I think I liked Lily Rose Depp. 

    Very interesting twist on key dynamics and personalities. 

    Beautiful sound design and stunning visually. Really great showy camera work on display here. 

    The entire sequence with Thomas in Count Orlaks castle was arguably the highlight of the film for me. Just constantly building dread and a creeping sense of terror with very little actual action.

    It truly is abysmal and deserves all the scorn it gets. And to be fair I knew this. I knew it was terrible going in, but the Connery completionist in me still had to watch it. 

    Thurman is just woefully miscast in it. Her and Fiennes just have no real chemistry. I don’t hate Fiennes performance as Stead it’s just not fun? He plays everything so straight and what’s the point of that. Connery is alright and seems to be…
