It’s hard to film from a child’s perspective. And yet, this film manages to.
The film challenges power dynamics through the way characters look at each other, the fact that the shots are very tight demonstrates the naivety and purity of the children’s emotions (even though they are sometimes very dark).
The painting motive is gorgeous, a celebration of movement, and as such, of cinema. It is interesting to see the depiction of the faces being blank as the characters…

a waste of time
the kind of film you make on your own, show to your parents and friends who pretend to like it
how narcissistic can you be to make a film like this?
genuinely don’t understand why this is at the berlinale
