Finally, it is the final finale.

This anime has truly cemented itself as one of the greatest, and I've been on this journey since it was my second anime seen after Sword Art Online. The animation consistently sets new benchmarks, while the voice acting remains stellar. What stands out most is the impeccable direction and writing that seamlessly blend apocalyptic action, political intrigue, and psychological elements. The depth of its lore and world-building is captivating, and the moral ambiguity adds…

    A grand Sci-Fi Epic

This film has everything great about Part One such as the cinematography, special effects, score and more. The whole cast and crew delivers on one of the most anticipated films of this year. It has so many scenes that give you goosebumps and just pure happiness by how good it is.

There are a few differences such as it not having a clear and strict structure as Part One, since Part Two has a lot more…

A film that explores the moral question of what it means to be good.

There are many moments within the narrative where the objective of goodness meets a grey. For instance, the act of offering a cake can be virtuous but if its for a transactional purpose then its virtue is less pure. These moments are littered within the film and I believe allow for philosophical meditation.

The direction is incredible at transporting the audience to the past, utilising incredible…

This movie’s cinematography, production design and score were so creative and well done. I enjoyed the acting of the cast, too. I thought it did a good job at presenting its themes of unrestricted scientific exploration, ownership and the discovery of learning.

There is more I could discuss but a lot of the film discussion especially if I analyse is touching on controversial and immoral things. I suppose that is in-line with how the film is since the film is…

A slow, smooth and long ride into catharsis.

A pain so bad that it numbs you. It’s what I feel constantly, whether thats my physical pain from my chronic condition to my emotional scars on my soul. This movie expresses that feeling for others to view. It is very delicate and intimate despite being cold and numb. The protagonist is someone I can see myself becoming in the future, even though I’ve never married and she never died. We…

    Mental scars & internal struggle

A lot has changed since I saw this last. For instance, The Souvenir review I wrote, which was my most personal review has been deleted. I wish I could revert it but it’s probably for the best.

Also, on rewatch a lot of the scenes with Paul Mescal hit harder. For instance, glancing at a happy family or positive child-parent relationship can make him and myself fall deep into contemplation and sadness even though you are…

This was unbearably bad. The actual frames per second during the action is terrible. The only good part of the film is Daniela.

    Perfection.

This film captures the human experience of emotions and relationships so well. It is one of the most authentic and honest depictions of parenthood, childhood and depression. I would like to discuss some of the events that occur in the film but I’ll save it for a spoiler review as it wouldn’t do the film the justice. That being said, the film is incredibly subtle at showing you how the little moments matter so much and the darkness a…

    The Elephant Whisperers

    ★★★★½

    Elephants are majestic creatures.

I’m not an animal person even though I do watch nature documentaries. However, there is something so intelligent and incredible about elephants that makes me marvel at their existence. This documentary shows off this feeling with orphaned elephants raised by South Indian tribal people hired by the government in a nature reserve. The emotions and stories are real and there is plenty of underlying emotions that you can deduce from what they don’t show you. Also,…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    A film that could’ve been a miniseries.

This is a sad movie. Its runtime physically takes a toll on you, or perhaps me more so due to my illness, but that toll does also make you feel more and more dull and numb. It captures the western in its historical accuracy and displays the two core themes of greed and racism. The greed is obvious and explicit with it being ingrained in the American identity and westward expansion.

    The aspect…

Warmth with a undertone of sadness.

This film reminded me of the time when I interviewed for a boarding school job and I was surprised at how accurate this was to it. Also, I am glad at how authentically it portrays the job of an educator as it really shows you how it can be shitty but also how rewarding and good it can be.

It reminded me that sometimes, you’re the best part of certain students days and you’re…

A poignant analysis of the way we treat race especially within the anti-racist community.

This movie was excellent in the way that it tackles my issues with how media treats race. Jeffrey Wright and everyone is excellent in this and I really liked the screenplay’s satire and agenda that it had. Also, I felt the cinematography had a real subtly to the way it portrayed everything in a natural way.

Overall, it’s a great clever movie that promotes thinking in a non-linear and binary manner.
