I cried so hard my throat started to hurt.
Is it a perfect movie? Absolutely not, you can nitpick here and there some shortcomings (the beginning was just OK) but The Wild Robot is probably the most generous film of the year; it’s entertaining, packed with adventures and twists, the camera work and the colors are just stunning, and it gets incredibly touching, mostly thanks to well fleshed characters and terrific performances (Pedro Pascal, my king, you made me cry with just one sentence). When cinema is so generous, the experience is just perfect.
One I will definitely rewatch as often as I can, and can’t wait for the 4K disc to come out.
