Love burns through everything. Status, furs, jewels… It renews even the most banal possessions into precious gifts. Even if it were to kill you, was love even meant for this cruel world anyhow? Madame de… is no mere treat but a full course meal at just 100 minutes, running you through the transformation of a cold and secure noblewoman in great debt to a passionate and and maligned lady unsure how in her privilege to process this great phenomenon of heat…

Nosferatu 2024
This may be the first instance of Eggers not totally wowing me. For such a pronounced auteur with such few but incendiary and confident hits under his belt, Nosferatu comes off as a bit too safe and well-behaved for it to give me a lasting impression. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl 2024
Gromit’s career of saving Wallace’s behind from his own insane contraptions is truly a thankless task. If this movie was not as fun, heartfelt, and charming as it is, he ought to move out and become his own dog, but alas, all’s well ends well. They were meant to bring chaos into their little lives for our viewing pleasure, even in what is conceptually a tacky sequel idea. Thankfully it is, for the most part, as witty and charming as Wallace and Gromit have ever been. And Feathers McGraw is still the creepiest little shit I ever did lay eyes on.
