Almost feels futile rating these films. Godzilla movies are like pizza . . . even when it’s bad, it’s pretty good.

]]>Wondering what Clint Eastwood’s policy is on watching films his children star in. Has he seen any Scott Eastwood performances that he has not been personally involved with? I really just want to entertain the idea that Clint has sat down in a theater, put on 3D glasses, and watched Leatherface chainsaw the screen out of parental obligation.

]]>The best kind of movies. Also, some movies do it better (or at least more memorably) than others; those are what I include here. For example, someone saying “Ghostbusters” in Ghostbusters is not as entertaining as Jack Nicholson saying “What if this is as good as it gets?” In As Good As It Gets. Will add as I think of them/see them. Note: If the title is a song, it doesn’t count i.e. Yellow Submarine, Blue Velvet, etc.

In which I give movies I deem appropriate for re-evaluation (have to be a 3.5 or lower) a fair shake. Most of these I’ll have seen only once and/or I’m better equipped to appreciate them now. List is in no particular order and will post a review for each film upon their completion. Also open to suggestions.

]]>At the soul of each of these films is an innate horniness from which their narrative & visual content is inextricable. These are my personal picks; as such a subjective metric, horniness is in the eye of the beholder. Note: unfortunately Antichrist & Dogtooth do not qualify as they are from 2009. Also, Honorable Mentions placed for films with same director, actor, or theme.
Almodóvar's films have never been noted for their chasteness, The Skin I Live In, being no exception. A perverse riff on Eyes Without a Face, the film takes no prisoners on its road to transgression.
Honorable Mention: Pain & Glory
The "Fuckbox" is only the most extreme example of High Life's sexual obsessions.
Honorable Mention: The Lighthouse
Not since In the Realm of the Senses has horniness been so linked to existential despair.
The cinematic equivalent of swooning. Just peachy.
Armpit as erogenous zone.
Horniness and homophobia do not make good bedmates.
Honorable Mentions: Heartbeats, Mommy, Matthias & Maxime
Food porn.
The title speaks for itself.
Can't add All About Eve so here's the next best thing.
Honorable Mention: The Favourite
Zac Efron! Nicole Kidman! Matthew McConaughey! And . . . John Cusack? All sweaty, trashy, and horny as hell. Peak Florida.
