A beautiful, inspiring poem of a film. Some say it is not as good as CITIZEN KANE. To that I say CITIZEN KANE does not feature the word "funderwear."
WILDLY entertaining and the first movie in the series to truly stand out. a clean heist film with cars going vroom vroom instead of cop shenanigans and needlessly confusing plots. almost every line from vin made me scream and the rock is SO sweaty and SO angry. it’s clear by this point they finally found their footing and started embracing that slick over the top action while also weaving in the most poignant storyline yet, and as a result i was finally invested. before they were just goofy beefcakes racing cars, but now they’re a family of goofy beefcakes racing cars. i would even consider recommending this one as a standalone because it’s so much fun
edit: i CAN’T get over the “fast” and “five” sharing the F in the poster and title sequence. i love it here
Not a mistake; rewatched this in full for the second time today.
Crazy to say, but there’s too big of a chunk in the middle with no action sequences. Wish we saw the race where Dom wins his car. And also maybe another race! They switched that out for Hobbs doing a bunch of extrajudicial murders!
Highlight of this movie– and the reason I think it’s such a fav– is bringing in the other characters as a team. That’s the move that fully switches up the franchise from being a street racing action series to a contemporary Western, blended with the elements that make this their attempt at a stateside spy franchise. I think I could write a thousand words…

Gag reel has a lot of stuff on it that The Rock will probably have to apologize for in two years. Great segment where Tyrese bothers all of his coworkers for 6 minutes. Sorry, not great– what’s the word? “Bad.”
