Trap is equal parts thrilling and frustrating, anchored by a magnetic performance from Josh Hartnett as you've never seen him before. M. Night Shyamalan knows how to keep an audience on the edge of their seats and the film is never dull, just not quite sure if it all comes together in a satisfying manner. A fun cinematic experience - darkly funny even at the most awkward moments - but nowhere near the higher echelons of Shyamalan's filmography.
