Interstellar 2014
This might be a longer one. I still remember seeing this for the very first time in theaters with my family when I was 13. It was one of those movies that really stuck with me as a kid. I can remember being at my friend’s house and talking constantly about the movie. It was one of the films that everyone wanted to see in theater and word of mouth spread how good it was. To this day my friends…

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003
The greatest story ever told. This was everything thing I hoped it would be and more. Being able to watch the trilogy in theaters, on the big screen, it’s just such a blessing. I’m not gonna lie I teared up at multiple points, not just from the film itself but from the fact that this is probably the only time I’ll ever be able to watch these this way again. And wow was this one great. My favorite movie of…

Gravity 2013
If I was rating this solely from a technical standpoint, I’d probably give this a 5 out of 5. The directing, editing, cinematography, and effects are all top notch. Cuaròn flourishes as per usual. Unfortunately, the movie itself and the plot has a little less to offer. There’s multiple points that were just slightly losing me. That being said, the action sequences are truly a marvel and I had a lot of fun watching.

Y Tu Mamá También 2001
The amount of introspection I had after watching this was insane. Alfonso Cuaròn, the filmmaker that you are. If I was ever to actually make a movie someday, I’d take inspiration from him. His technique is beautiful and raw and real. It’s uncompromising. I love it. And this film encapsulates so much of why he’s so good. It makes you think about your own life, and how you want to live. To give everything to this life and to experience. A beautiful movie.

A Quiet Place: Day One 2024
This was pretty disappointing as I really liked the first two. I would like to say that it was just missing John Krasinski’s direction but it was missing more than just that. The pacing felt off, most of the plot points felt meaning less, and the emotion that it tried to express had no grounding or foundation. The whole concept is still pretty fun and enjoyable, but this was very much a step down from the original two.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Denis Villeneuve take a bow. A cinematic masterpiece firing on levels. This was genuinely one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. This is cinema. I can’t even describe how monumental this was and how grand. I will be seeing this again very soon.
