The Ninth Configuration 1980

The Ninth Configuration was spectacular. I totally love Blatty's style of writing, and his hilarious tragedy makes me want to read his books asap. I loved Exorcist 3, and now that I've seen this I'm sad he didn't make more films. He's the kind of creator who gets at this aching truth about faith, science, belief and the grey matter inbetween.
I'd always assumed this was a straight-up horror film, but was stunned by how comedic and profound it ended…

Incredible looking 3D graphics, dug the hell out of the final credits moment for its sheer aesthetic commitment.

I feel as though Vampires could be a terrific horror comedy, it is wasn't for just how mean spirited the entire thing is. The movie itself is a fairly light late 90s supernatural action film, but it's two main leads add a real mean streak which is ultimately what drags the whole thing down.

The responses to Godzilla vs Kong are likely to vary depending on whether it was viewed at home from a streaming platform or in a theatre. The reason for this is that Adam Wingard has put together the most blockbustery blockbuster to fill the screen in a very long time.
