One of the best feelings after watching a film is when your conflicted on how you feel…Longlegs fits into that category. So this review may seem a little clunky!
Whilst I was never scared or particularly tense, I found the story to be very engaging and the directing to be almost fantastic. Sometimes it falls into cheap loud noise scare where silence would’ve worked better but besides that, this movie is insanely well made. I love the use of empty space and framing which allows for a much creepier atmosphere. The acting by everyone is mostly great with Nicolas Cage being the standout who gives I think his best performance.
I hadn’t seen any trailers and all I knew was the premise which was exciting as I had no idea where the story would go. It does feel at times a little predictable and maybe this rating will go up or down but for now I can confidently say Longlegs is a thrilling movie with a mostly great story and damn good direction.
